Monthly Games Night in the Ratskeller

Friday, May 5th | 7PM

Games Night returns to the Ratskeller on Friday, May 5th beginning at 7pm. Bring your favorite board or card game or come compete in the monthly Skat Meister tournament (for experienced Skat players only).

All are welcome and the Ratskeller will be open to both members and non-members. The full bar selections will be available, but this is a potluck-style event and guests are invited to bring their own food/snacks to share.

Please note: for any non-Skat playing gamers who will be attending, please check with the Skat organizers as to where to sit. Some of the Ratskeller tables are reserved specifically for the monthly Skat Meister tournament.

May Herrenabend

Friday, May 12th | 7-11pm

Herrenabend (men's night) is one of the BSV's oldest traditions, originating at the club more than 100 years ago.

Guest chef member Dave Cannata will be preparing a special menu featuring Saarland style Bier Marinated Pork Nackensteaks (butt steaks) cooked on a Schwenkgrill. Sides will include Baked Potato, Gurkensalat (cucumber salad), and Bananas Foster for desert.

We ask that all guests planning to dine with us please pre-purchase a meal ticket. Due to increasing demand for the Herrenabend tickets, they will be available only to the BSV members with a single guest.

CLUB NEWS AND PROMOS

BSV Adult German Language School: 2023-2024 School Year Registration Now Open!

The BSV's "Thursday School" provides a great opportunity for adults to learn German in a fun and relaxing environment, while developing great friendships with Members and non-Members alike!

The Top Reasons to Learn German!

#1 - German is easier to learn than you think.....

Since German and some English share the same root, thousands of German words are closely related. Wasser = water, Vater = father, kommen = to come. And then you have angst, kindergarten and schadenfreude which have the same meaning in both languages!

#2 - German is the second most-spoken language in Europe…

Are you planning on a trip to Europe? Do you work for a company which does business in Germany, Austria or Switzerland?? Consider taking a class. Germans love people who communicate in German - mistakes and all!

We offer class levels for true beginners through advanced German speakers. The school's staff can always help with placement and encourage movement up/down a level after the school year has started. Click below to visit the Adult Language School's website to learn more or to register.
